About the artist

Jiane Maschette was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil on August 29, 1964.
Her interest in Art began very early and even as a young child she was known to dabble in drawing and painting.  In adolescence she began her formal education with several classes in techniques of drawing and painting.  In 1987 she graduated from college with a degree in Art Education from the Faculdade Salesiana in her hometown.
She taught Art for almost sixteen years in the public schools of Sao Paulo, imparting her passion for the subject to her young students. This time in her life was very important to help shape her artistic experiences and her vision of Art.
Throughout her career she continued looking for new ways to expand her knowledge, including studying with renowned Brazilian artists like Sandra Cinto, Osmar Pinheiro, Roberto Gyarfi and Valdek de Garanhuns.  She participated in competitions and expositions of Art in Brazil and abroad.  In 1998, Jiane won the first place in the prestigious AACD competition. The prize was a trip to Paris, France, where she had the opportunity to finally see in person masterpieces she had only known in books.
In 2007, Jiane completed her graduate work with a degree in Art Therapy, broadening her comprehension of the power and value of Art.
In 2008, Jiane moved to Italy, the country of her grandparents, which she had always loved and desired to visit.
This new experience, as in all experiences in her life, has enriched her artistic life, ushering a new more colorful and detailed phase in her Art.
